Our Venue

The Shadbolt Centre presents several venue options to best suit your needs for your unique meeting or event. From the spacious Atrium with its oversized windows to the studios that overlook Deer Lake Park, the Shadbolt Centre offers appealing and functional spaces for your next gathering.

Located in the heart of Burnaby’s arts and cultural hub, the Shadbolt Centre is only available for rent when using CITY Catering, the City of Burnaby’s catering service.

Helen McConaghy

Helen McConaghy

Helen McConaghy has worked with the City’s Food Services division for more than half her life. In that time, she has seen the department grow to include several restaurants and an expert catering department - which she now leads. Along with creating memorable events for her clients, Helen says her favourite part of the job is helping wedding couples on their big day, “and knowing you’re making their day as special as can be.” Helen can be reached at catering@burnaby.ca or 604-205-3026.

Maiwesh (Mai) Dossa has been leading the kitchen at the old-fashioned Ice Cream Parlour (also known as the ICP Café) for nearly two decades – garnering much acknowledgement and praise along the way.
Throughout the years, Mai has come by her experience and skills entirely through hard work and on-the-job training.  Along with the ICP Café, Mai also caters a remarkable number of City events and weddings throughout the year, including the Mayor’s Annual Appreciation Dinner.
