Music Nights at Burnaby Mountain & Riverway Restaurants
Join the Riverway Restaurant on March 23 and Burnaby Mountain Restaurant on March 24 for a special night of food and live music with acclaimed singer-songwriter Jesse Waldman.
In honour of the upcoming Juno Awards in Vancouver on March 25, the Riverway and Burnaby Mountain restaurants join in this celebration of Canadian music with a memorable night that includes great food and great music with Vancouver’s own Jesse Waldman.
As part of this celebration, enjoy dinner and a private concert with this notable singer-songwriter and composer at the Riverway on March 23 and Burnaby Mountain on March 24. The concert begins at 5:30pm on both dates, and guests can choose from the regular menu or indulge in the $25 three-course dinner.
Influenced by folk and blues pioneers Townes Van Zandt, Taj Mahal, and Neil Young, Jesse Waldman has toured Canada, the Western US, and the United Kingdom – performing everywhere from local pubs to soft-seat theaters, and appearing at major festivals that include Vancouver's Folk and International Jazz Fests and Burnaby’s own Blues + Roots Festival.
This diamond-in-the-rough guitar virtuoso wears many hats, from candid singer-songwriter and studio producer to respected sound designer and a sought-after film and TV composer. For the last decade, he has been honing his own unique and eclectic blend of folk and blues, earning him the reputation of being an “East Van fixture” by Exclaim! Magazine – all before ever recording his first solo album.
His recently debuted album, Mansion Full of Ghosts, showcases his own unique musical style and is reminiscent of Joe Pub, Shakey Graves, Gillian Welch and Blake Mills – reflecting a body of work born from the need, as Waldman sings, “to keep a light on in the dark.”
